‘Find Help Now’ Website Helps Kentuckians Find Life-Saving
Drug Used To Reverse Opioid Overdose


As of March 2024 the state’s the state’s FindHelpNowKy.org website also helps Kentuckians find places to obtain the life-saving drug naloxone, recovery housing, addiction treatment and mental health treatment. Read the full press release here. 

CDC Simplifies Respiratory Virus Isolation Recommendations

On March 1, 2024, the Center of Disease Control and Prevention announce updated recommendations for how people can protect themselves and their communities from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. The updated guidance recommends that people with a respiratory illness like COVID-19 and influenza, stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). The guidance encourages added precaution over the next five days since some people remain contagious beyond the “stay-at-home” period. To read the full press release, click here

On February 28, the Center of Disease Control updated the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine guidance for adults ages 65 years and older. This group is now eligible to receive a additional dose of the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine.  To read the full press release, click here.

Kentucky Youth Advocates Want to Hear From You!

Kentucky Youth Advocates is asking current and former WIC participants, community organizations, and Kentuckians from all 120 counties to participate in the landscape assessment by completing this survey (Spanish version) and sharing this opportunity with others. Participation in this survey is open to all Kentuckians and completely anonymousThe purpose of this survey is to determine what Kentuckians do and do not know about WIC and gather feedback from Kentucky WIC participants on their experience in the program. 

With support from the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, Kentucky Youth Advocates is leading a project to collect the data needed to combat opioid misuse across our state. The Kentucky Youth Advocates is asking residents for input on tools needed to address opioid use in the community. Deadline to complete the survey is April 20, 2024. Read the full announcment here.
