CDC Simplifies Respiratory Virus Isolation Recommendations
On March 1, 2024, the Center of Disease Control and Prevention announce updated recommendations for how people can protect themselves and their communities from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. The updated guidance recommends that people with a respiratory illness like COVID-19 and influenza, stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). The guidance encourages added precaution over the next five days since some people remain contagious beyond the “stay-at-home” period. To read the full press release, click here.
